Robert Downey JR, the face behind Iron Man.

Most of you know Robert Downey JR as the man who played Iron Man. Here is everything you need to know about him.


Robert Downey jr. ( New York, 4-4-65) Is an American film and telivision actor, he’s also a singer and producer. He was nominated in 1993 for an Academy Award for his starring role in Chaplin and in 2009 for his supporting role in Tropic Thunder. He won a BAFTA, several Golden Globes and a Saturn Award. He is known for Iron Man.

His father, Robert Downey Sr.. Is a film director. At age five Downey Jr. plays. His first film in his father’s Pound (1970).

In 1987 he had his breakthrough role in the cocaine addicted Julian in the film adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ Less Than Zero. He received fine reviews for his portrayal of the title role in Chaplin from 1992. Other highlights in his career was his role in Oliver Stone’s Natural Born Killers, a funny supporting role in Wonder Boys (2002) alongside Michael Douglas and the role of sweetheart Ally McBeal in the TV series.

Just before the end of the television season was followed by a new arrest after police saw him in an alley under the influence of narcotics. Producer David E. Kelley Ally McBeal sacked Downey and rewrote the final episode of the series. An Emmy nomination was a small consolation, since at that moment did not look at that Downey would ever be considered for such a role. Downey was sentenced in July 2001 to a stay of one year in rehab and a suspended prison sentence of three years.

On the set of the film Gothika (2003), he met producer Susan Levin, whom he married in 2005. From his first marriage to Deborah Falconer he has a son. With his current wife Susan, he has a son and a daughter.
